Alexander Andrew Jervis passed from this life Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at the Geisinger Hospital Wyoming Valley. Alexander had a several year battle with congestive heart failure. He was born April 6th, 1939 the son of the late Andrew and Florence Jervis, Factoryville, Pa. Al was a 1957 graduate of the Tunkhannock High School. Al was born on the family farm and was a truck driver all his life, he retired at age 65. Al was an avid fisherman and hunter. He especially enjoyed fishing in his own pond and eating the fish he caught. He was a Master Gardner and enjoyed canning and freezing food from his large gardens. Alex was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter-Day Saints and he held a leadership position with the church and assisted many of the members. Alex will be deeply missed by his fellow church members. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a son, Alexander Jervis, Jr. and a brother Ronald Jervis. In addition to his wife Dorothy of Tunkhannock to whom he was married to for 12 years he is survived by brothers Robert, Pasadena Maryland, Stephen Factoryville, Brent Factoryville, daughter Veronica Davy Tunkhannock, and a step daughter Kim, sons Brad Jervis Factoryville, Kevin Jervis Hop Bottom and a special grandson Jeremy Jervis Factoryville, eight grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Monday 11am at the Harding-Litwin Funeral Home 123 W. Tioga St. Tunkhannock. A viewing will be held from 7-9pm on Sunday at the Funeral Home.
