Barbara Jean Reynolds (Swartz)

Barbara Jean (Swartz) Reynolds, also known as “Beanie„, 72, passed away on Friday, October 22 , after battling a short illness. She was born on June 2 , 1949 and was raised by Robert and Druscilla Swartz.

Barbara was a loving mother and grandmother. Her world revolved around her children and grandchildren. She was affectionately known as “Grandma Barb„ and “Aunt Barb„, deeply touching the lives of everyone that was lucky enough to cross paths with her. She was a safe place for any soul that needed love and guidance. Barbara was a devout Christian, dedicating her life to God and devoted most of her time to prayer and spreading the word of Jesus. She enjoyed spending time with her family, reading her Bible, doing crossword puzzles, reading her vast collection of books, and watching her favorite television shows.

Barbara had a gentle soul and a huge heart. She was known for always finding the good in someone, even when they didn’t see it themselves. She will be greatly missed and always remembered for her kind heart and giving soul.

Barbara is survived by a son, Carlton, Scranton; a daughter, Jasmine, Dunmore; six grandchildren; a sister, Carol; a niece; and a great-nephew.

The family would like to thank all the staff, nurses, and doctors at Lehigh Valley Hazelton and Lehigh Valley-Cedar Crest for the care that was given to our mother while she battled this illness. Barbara’s daughter, Jasmine, would like to give a special thank you to Dana, an extraordinary nurse — I am forever grateful for the special moments you allowed me to have with my mom, I will never forget your compassion or kindness.
