Beatrice M. Walters (Root)

Beatrice M. Walters of Factoryville died Thursday morning at her home. Her husband, Joseph Walters Sr., died July 21, 1992

Born in Tunkhannock on May 8, 1935, daughter of the late Duane F. Sr. and Hannetta Crone Root , Beatrice retired from Mobil Chemical in 1994.

Surviving are a son, Joseph Walters Jr. (Rev. Sue Walters), Bloomfield, N.Y.; four daughters, Marita Cicon (Greg), New Milford; Teresa Rivenburg (Leon), New Milford; Tammy Bedell (Randy), Factoryville; and Kimberly Whitehouse (Jack), Canandaigua, N.Y.; sister, Gladys Tesch, Neenah, Wis.; brothers, Duane Root Jr., Maryland; Steven Root, South Carolina; and Fred Root, Fairport, N.Y.; several aunts, uncles and cousins; 17 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Pamela Walters; and a grandson, Leon Rivenburg Jr.

Funeral services will be Monday at 1 p.m. from the Harding-Litwin Funeral Home, 123 W. Tioga St., Tunkhannock, with his daughter-in-law, the Rev. Sue Walters officiating. Interment will follow at the Jersey Hill Cemetery, Meshoppen.
