Carolyn M. Eggleston, 68, of Factoryville died Tuesday at her son’s home. Her husband, William C. Eggleston Jr., died Oct. 16, 1979.
Born in Meshoppen on Oct. 28, 1948, daughter of Irene B. Corby Baker, Factoryville, and the late Willard H. Baker, who died Dec. 18, 2005, Carolyn was a 1966 graduate of Lackawanna Trail High School. She was active with the Factoryville United Methodist Church and its women’s group. She had worked for a local bank and telephone company. She was the Clinton Twp. tax collector and she enjoyed seeing everyone who would stop by to pay their taxes. Her biggest passion was spending time with the grandkids.
Also surviving are a son, William P. Eggleston; daughter, Kimberly Duffy and her husband, George; and grandchildren, Clarissa, Ryan, George and Samantha, all of Factoryville.
She was also preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Jeanne Eggleston, who died April 25, 2007.
Funeral service will be Monday at 11 a.m. from Anthony P. Litwin Jr. Funeral Homes Inc., 33 Reynolds St., Factoryville, with Pastor Peter Raser officiating. Interment, Evergreen-Woodlawn Cemetery, Factoryville.
Friends may call Sunday , 6 to 8 p.m. , at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Factoryville United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 326, Factoryville, PA 18419.
