Charles F. Kennedy, 81, died peacefully Tuesday at Allied Skilled Nursing. His wife of 58 years is Sally Sanborn Kennedy. Born in Pendleton, Oregon, on March 19, 1935 he was the son of the late Charles M. and Dorothy Hammond Kennedy. Raised primarily in Seattle schools, except for two years with his grandparents in Zillah during WWII, he graduated in 1959 from the University of Washington.
After completing 35 years with P&G and achieving a lifetime goal leading to retirement Chuck continued in the education field with the Northern Tier Industry Education Consortium’s School-to-Work program and a term as Interim President for Keystone Junior College. His active participation in volunteer services ranged from youth activities & community programs, to elected government positions.
In addition to his parents Charles is preceded in death by a son Peter.
In addition to his wife Chuck is survived by three sons; Mark and wife Marita Kennedy of Newnan Ga; David of Lake Winola; John and wife Bobbie Kennedy of Richland, WA; also a daughter Kathleen and husband John Arch Maier of Nicholson; and daughter-in-law Annette Kennedy of Beaumont, Pa.. From this progeny, twelve grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
