David James Drake Sr., 85, of Dalton died Tuesday evening at Regional
Hospital of Scranton. His wife, Rachael M. Thomas Drake, died May 7, 2005.
Born in Dalton on Aug. 6, 1930, son of the late Sterle C. and Ruth Thompson
Drake, David was a junk man who loved going to auctions, yard sales and
working his booth at Sugarman’s. He enjoyed meeting people that came in his
secondhand store, the What Not Shop.
Surviving are a daughter, Lisa Drake, Dalton; three sons, David Jr.,
Factoryville; Kenny, Glenburn; and Kevin, Factoryville; his beloved dog,
Suzie; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews
and cousins.
He was also preceded in death by two sons, Robert and Charles; five
brothers, Eddie, Lawrence, John, Richard and Sterle; and two sisters,
Margaret La Motta and Marion Ambrozia.
Memorial services will be Wednesday at 6 p.m. from Mill City Assembly of
God Church, to be officiated by the Rev. James G. Rugg, with dinner and
fellowship to follow.
Friends may call Friday, 6 to 8 p.m., at Anthony P. Litwin Jr. Funeral
Homes Inc., 33 Reynolds St., Factoryville.
