Doris Vasky

Doris E. Vasky, 81, of West Abington Twp., died Thursday evening at home after a brief illness. Her husband the late Stanley Vasky Jr. died On June 17th, 2009 they were married on Feb. 2, 1952. She was born and a lifelong resident of West Abington Twp. on March 16, 1933, daughter of the late Earl B. and Beatrice Klingel Finch. She worked for Lackawanna Trail School District as a cafeteria worker at the high school. She attended Dalton High School. Doris loved her family; she was a loving mother, grand and great grandmother. She was a member of the Dalton Ladies Auxiliary and Ladies Auxiliary Federation. Also surviving are three sons, Stanley III, Dalton; James and wife, Gloria, Chinchilla; and Allen and wife, Lisa, Fleetville; two daughters, Ann Marie Leola, Scranton; and Kimberly Button and husband, David, Dalton; 12 grandchildren, Lisa, Michael, Amy, Courtney, James, Sarah, David, Matthew, Kendra, Emma, Bailey and Christopher; six great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by two sisters Helen Sherman and Norma Finch and a brother Everett Finch. Funeral service will be Sunday at 5 p.m. at the Anthony P. Litwin Jr.Funeral Homes, Inc. 33 Reynolds St., Factoryville, with Pastor Lori Robinson of the Dalton United Methodist Church officiating.
