Esther Dorothea Summers (Christenson)

Esther Dorothea Summers, 92, Tunkhannock, died Saturday afternoon, Oct. 3rd.2015, at the Hospice of the Sacred Heart of Dunmore. She was married to the late Kenneth Summers for 63 years.
Born in Calstadt, NJ., on Feb. 4, 1923 she was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Carrie Walters Christenson. She worked for many years at the B&D in Rutherford, NJ.
She was the kindest, sweetest, and loving lady that you could meet. Esther loved to sew, draw, played trombone, traveling with family, and she was a member of the Lyndhurst Fire Dept. Auxiliary, and the Legion Auxiliary.
She is survived by a daughter, Donna Lee Grohs of Tunkhannock; five grandchildren, Kimberly Kalmanowicz and husband Kevin of South Carolina and Stephanie C. Stephens and husband Jeremy of Tunkhannock; Michael K. Grohs, and wife Mary Beth of Clarks Summit; Melissa A. Schultz and husband Charles of Dallas; and Edward C. Grohs and wife April of Utah; and 13 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents Esther is preceded in death by her two brothers Lawrence and Ronald Christenson, and her son-in-law Michael G. Grohs.
Services will be private at the family
Interment will be held at the Crest Haven Memorial Park, Clifton, N.J.
