Frank D. Kochmer, 75, of Lake Winola died Nov. 9 at Hospice of the Scared Heart, Dunmore, after a long battle with dementia and cancer. Born in Scranton on April 10, 1942; son of the late Victor and Frances Cardone Kochmer.
Frank spent his entire life in Wyoming County on several farms in the Nicholson and Tunkhannock area. He loved being outdoors and working the land, caring for his herd of cows and various other creatures great and small. After dairy farming in his younger days he started farm equipment business repairing and selling small tractors and implements. He was always optimistic, friendly and outgoing, ready with stories of local folks that usually turned out to be jokes, the punchline all the more funny because of the surprise. Any trip to town involved at least two conversations with the many people Frank knew from the area. He loved dancing and was easy to find at any party, surrounded by a group listening to his latest stories and jokes.
Frank is survived by his wife Gay, two sons Stuart and his wife Sheila and Eric, grandchild Enzo, Sister Betty Lou Craik, Brother Victor, sister-in-law Sheila, and numerous nieces and nephews.
