Gilbert Bishop

Gilbert L. Bishop, 85, of Springville, died Tuesday morning at the Geisinger C.M.C in Scranton. Born in Rush Twp. on August 23, 1928; the son of the late James Lee and Ruth Kinney Bishop. His wife of 63 years is the former Alice J. Howell; they were married on June 10th 1950. He was an Army Veteran and loved spending his years working his land as a dairy farmer. In addition to his parents Gilbert is preceded in death by three brothers Meredith, Dale and Elston Bishop. In addition to his wife he is survived by: a sister Betty Mack of Harford and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be Saturday at 11 am from the Harding-Litwin Funeral Home 123 W. Tioga St. Tunkhannock with Pastor Roger Rosenau of the Springville Baptist Church officiating. Interment will be at Jersey Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 4-8 pm.
