Helen M. Crowther (Hood)

Helen Margaret (Peggy) Crowther, 102, resident of Allied Skilled Nursing, died June 26, 2015. Born in Philadelphia Pa, June 4, 1913, she was the daughter of Percival DeLap Hood and Helen Barthold Hood.
She graduated from Lower Merion High School in 1931 and married David Beaver Crowther who died in 1980. She lived in the Philadelphia area for most of her adult life and later resided in Anna Maria Island/Bradenton, Florida, and the Scranton area.
Peggy was a dedicated hospital volunteer first at Bryn Mawr Hospital children’s ward and later at Clarks Summit State Hospital and the Bradenton Emergency Room. Her greatest joy was in her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her son David R. Crowther and wife Janet, of Benton Township, 3 grandsons; David and wife Theresa, Randolph NJ, Alan and wife Sefika, Penn Valley PA, John and wife Adrienne, Belmont CA, and 6 great-grandchildren Lillian, Nora, Henry, Jay, Paige, and Samantha.
