Irene R. Sweppenheiser, 93, formerly of Factoryville died on Thursday, April 07, 2016, at Golden Living Center, Tunkhannock. Born at Lake Manataka on September 14 th , 1922; the daughter of the late Sylvester and Matilda (Tillie) Rowlands Janosky. Her husband the late Elmer C. Sweppenheiser died Sept. 11, 2014.
She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. During WWII she helped in the war effort by working at Weston Laboratories in Elizabeth, N.J. and then worked for many years at Keystone College working for the Wood Food Service Company.
Preceded in death by two sons David and Paul; three sisters Anna Pencek, Helen Beckish and Joann (June) Jack.
Surviving are two daughters-in-laws Denise and Debby both of Factoryville. Three granddaughters Heidi Dixon, Nina, Anna and a grandson Lyle. Four great grandchildren Reagan, Kendyl, Zoey and David.
Memorial Service will be Sunday at 3pm from the Anthony P. Litwin Jr. Funeral Homes, Inc. 33 Reynolds St. Factoryville with Pastor Murray Brindle of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Tunkhannock officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 1 to 3pm. Interment at Chase Cemetery, Fleetville.
