Jennie C. Stuble (Owens)

Jennie C. Stuble, 89, of Factoryville died Monday, Oct. 2, 2023, at Geisinger C.M.C., Scranton. Her husband was the late Henry “Hank” Stuble, who died Jan. 24, 2009. They were married on June 26, 1954. She was born in Carbondale, daughter of the late Delbert and Ruth Bell Owens. Jennie graduated from Greenfield High School where she was Valedictorian of her class and completed her senior year at Scott High School.

Jennie and Hank ran the Last Chance Inn, Factoryville where she baked and served pizza for many years. Plenty of love and hard work went into every tray she made. Jennie loved her family, friends and neighbors. She was an anchor for the family and kept up to date with all their lives. She loved sitting on her porch watching the cars and school buses go by.

Jennie yearned for a relationship with Jesus Christ and wanted a church family. She found that treasure when she married Henry and made sure he helped keep that bond strong throughout their years together while raising their family. Christ was the key that held everyone together. She was baptized and married at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Scranton where she served in the Sunday School and the Lutheran Braille Workers. Upon Henry’s death she transferred to Grace Lutheran in Hop Bottom until the Lord called her home. Jennie was blessed with two loving church families.

Surviving are her children: Diane and her husband Francisco Martinez of Factoryville, Mark and his wife Theresa Stuble of Factoryville, Kimberli and her husband David Brown of Factoryville; grandchildren: Patrick Ziagos, Anitha and Samuel Dodda, and Jennifer, David Brown and Cassandra Holsopple; three great grandchildren Susannah, Sharon and Joshua; several nieces and nephews.

Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family at Clifford Valley Cemetery, Clifford. Memorial Service will be Saturday Oct. 7 at 11am at Grace Lutheran Church 351 Greenwood St. Hop Bottom with Pastor Steve Geske presiding. Friends may call at the church an hour before service time.
