John W. Baker

John W. Baker, Jr. of Forkston passed away at his home on Feb.  13, 2024.  He was born in Meshoppen on Feb. 4, 1940, and he was the son of the late John Baker, Sr. and the late former Anna Vargason.  He was married to the former Patricia Lepo for 58 years.  John was a lifelong farmer and started an excavation business with his son called Baker Excavating.

John had a love for the outdoors and most days he spent his time building trails for his side-by-side, cutting trees, and running his equipment on the farm.  He enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a sister Jean Colvin, grandson John J. Baker.

In addition to his wife, he is survived his children Jacqueline Baker and Joe Wiles, and John G. Baker, and Angie Waardenburg, grandson Kyle Baker and Norma Seamans, and great granddaughter Addison Baker all of Forkston.

Funeral services will be held Friday Feb. 16 ^th at 11am from the Harding Litwin Funeral Home 123 W. Tioga St. Tunkhannock.  A viewing will be held from 9-11am at the funeral home.  Interment will follow at the Vaughn Cemetery Mehoopany.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the NBTDA P.O.
