John Hinkley

John A. Hinkley, 71, of Springville, died at his home May 9, 2016. He was born in Montrose on Nov. 12, 1944 and he was the son of the late Robert and Louise Roberts Hinkley.
John was a 1962 graduate of the Elk Lake High School and he was married to the former Linda Remington. John was employed for 31 years at Proctor and Gamble.
He was a Vietnam veteran where he served in the U.S. Army, a member and president of the P&G retiree club, and a member of the American Legion po st 154.
In addition to his parents, John is preceded in death by a brother, Robert Hinkley.
In addition to his wife, Linda, John is survived by a brother Lewis and wife Dixie of Springville, sisters Marlene and husband George Gorski of Meshoppen, Darlene and husband Dave Saylor of Meshoppen, and Louise and husband Jeff Sharer of Wyalusing, children Marcia and husband Martin Harris of West Newton, Pa. and Dawn and husband Brian Pritiskutch, of Schuykill Haven, 3 grandchildren Catherine Harris, Lucas Pritiskutch, and Quentin Jurista.
Funeral services will be held 3 pm Wednesday at the Harding-Litwin Funeral Home 123 W. Tioga St. Tunkhannock with Pastor John Shaffer of the Nicholson United Methodist church officiating. Friends may call from 1 pm until the time of the service at the funeral home. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
