June A. Wood (Adolph)

June A. Wood,93, formerly of Factoryville died Friday 10/19/2018 at Lehigh Center, Macungie, PA. Her late husband, S.Victor Wood Jr. predeceased her in 2004.

She was born in Wilkes-Barre on June 13, 1925, the daughter of the late Henry and Myrtle Watson Adolph.

June graduated Coughlin High School 1943 then Wilkes-Barre General Hospital School of Nursing in 1946. She started her nursing career at West Side Hospital, Scranton as a Staff Nurse and Supervisor. June worked at Keystone Jr. College for most of her career  as head Nurse. She also worked at Jewish Nursing Home, Mountain Rest Nursing Home and for Dr. R.L Landis M.D,,

After retiring, June volunteered as nurse and chaplain at Tyler Memorial Hospital, Tunkhannock. She was a  long time member of St. Peters Episcopal Church, Tunkhannock where she sang in the choir and served on the alter guild.

She enjoyed animals and knitting as well as spending time with family and friends.

Surviving are a daughter Kathie Greer (Wayne) of Schnecksville,PA,  and sons Bradley Wood (Diane) of Ashland, PA,  and Douglas Wood (Carol) of Boyertown, PA, grandchildren, great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service will be Wednesday at 1pm from Anthony P. Litwin Jr. Funeral Homes Inc., 33 Reynolds St. Factoryville with Rev. Lou Divis, Rector Officiating.  Interment at Evergreen-Woodlawn Cemetery, Factoryville. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 11-1pm. In lieu of flowers memorial contribution may be made to Griffin Pond Animal Shelter 967 Griffin Pond Rd, South Abington Township, PA 18411.
