Leslie C. Belles, 83, of Baylor’s Lake, died Monday at his home. He was born in Scranton on Nov. 27, 1933; the son of the late John Lon and Sarah Elizabeth Brown Belles. He attended the Scranton school system. His wife of 56 years is the former Anna Mae Armbruster.
He was employed at Eureka Specialty Printing and succesfully ran his own business Payless Painting for many years before retiring.
Les served his country in the U.S. Army. He was active in the Fleetville fire company for 18 years and fire chief for 5 years. He enjoyed Hunting, fishing, photography and star gazing. He also loved bicycling, walking and making new friends. He was a well-known face at High Energy Fitness in Tunkhannock.
Also surviving are a son, John Belles, Scranton; two daughters, Mary Beth Targett, Baylor’s Lake and Lynn Ann Belles (S/O Scott Reese), Clarks Summit; brother Daniel (Beverly), Moosic; 6 Grandchildren, Gabrielle, Molly, John R., Thomas Belles; Aeddon and Deme Anna Targett; great grandson Trevor O’Leary.
Celebration of Leslie’s life will be held on Thursday Dec. 29 th at 6pm at Anthony P. Litwin Jr. Funeral Homes, Inc. 33 Reynolds St. Factoryville. Friends may call at the funeral home two hours before Celebration Time (4-6pm)
