Lois “June” Jenner Wilson passed away on September 8, 2026, at the Tunkhannock Manor in Tunkhannock PA. She was the fourth of 6 children (Eliza, Alberta, Jean, Gary, and Arden) born to the late Harrison Edward and Pearl Belle Quick Jenner on May 20, 1931, in East Rush, Susquehanna County, and grew up on the small family farm. Fresh out of high school, she married the love of her life, Paul Robert Wilson who pre-deceased her in December of 2022 after more than 73 years of marriage. They eventually purchased the family farm and taught their six children the values of honesty and hard work. The young bride, living a good distance from her parents, depended upon the helpfulness of neighbors, including Reva and Clare, and her in-laws as she managed the household while also helping with field and barn work and getting the children through school. Of course, our family had to take our turn to use the party line telephone, which connected to a jack on the wall, when it wasn’t in use by other neighbors. And if the phone rang “two shorts,” we knew someone was calling us as other households had different ring patterns that would also ring into our phone system. That was our “internet.”

As the nest began to empty, June thought that a bit of her own pocket money might be a good thing, so she became a waitress at a Tunkhannock restaurant, clerked at the nearby “corner store,” moved on to a gas station/convenient store in Mehoopany, and eventually joined the cafeteria staff in the Tunkhannock school system. She and Paul were members of the Lymanville and Lynn Church, where she occasionally provided piano accompaniment if “Aunt” Ruth Fisher wasn’t available, and she faithfully contributed and served at the monthly covered dish dinners that the Lymanville Ladies’ Aid group offered to the community. Pies were her favorite donations and were so delicious that a store in Lemon asked her to sell pies at that establishment for several years and even advertised them on the radio station. Finally, June and Paul found some freedom to enjoy life, such as square dancing, bowling, motorcycling, snowmobiling in northern NY with friends, and traveling from coast to coast by car and plane.

June was predeceased by her parents, siblings, her husband Paul, her youngest daughter Brenda (Rich) Reichart, and her grandson Devin Reichart and great-grandsons Garrett and Gage Wilson. She is survived by Gail (Gary) Shields, Donald Wilson, Larry (Mary Ann) Wilson, Charles Wilson, Linda (Sam Ring) Gramento, 11 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great granddaughter, (and 1 great-great grandson on the way). She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, neighbors, and friends. The family wishes to extend our appreciation to Dr Heidi Clark; Joanne, Chelsea, Terri, Kevin, Ray, and many others at the Manor; the folks at Serenity Hospice Care; and to all who attended and helped her celebrate her 95th birthday on May 26 earlier this year.

Services will be held on September 21, 2026, at the Harding-Litwin Funeral Home, 123 West Tioga Street, Tunkhannock PA 18657. The family will receive friends one hour before the 11:00am service. Burial will take place at the Lynn Cemetery, followed by a fellowship dinner at the Springville United Methodist Church.
