Madelyn J. Harding, 90, of Tunkhannock fell asleep in the arms of the Lord Jan.
22, 2016 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on May 17, 1925 in
West Abington and she was the daughter of the late Albert and Cora Finch Avery.
She was a graduate of the Mill City High School. Madelyn was married to Thomas
Church and a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose.
She enjoyed family gatherings and spending time with her grandchildren and great-
grandchildren.
In addition to her parents Madelyn is preceded in death by brothers Richard and
Ronald Avery and a sister Alberta Jurista.
In addition to her husband Thomas, she is survived by her daughters; Beverly and
Husband Herbert Traver of Tunkhannock, Sharon Kuback and companion Eugene
O’Malley of Clifford, Susan and husband George Dana of Tunkhannock, Barbara
and husband John Pollock, of Tunkhannock, and Becky and husband Jeramy
Watkins of Tunkhannock, sisters Bette Davitt of Tunkhannock, and a sister in law
Caroline Kresge, 13 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and many nieces and
nephews.
Funeral service will be held 11am Monday at the Harding-Litwin Funeral Home
123 W. Tioga St. Tunkhannock with Rev. Betty Reilly and Rev. Lori Robinson
officiating. Friends may call Sunday from 4-7pm at the funeral home. Interment
will be private at the Sunnyside Cemetery. In lieu of followers memorial
contributions may be made to the Eatonville United Methodist Church P.O. Box
