Martin McAndrew, 68, of Factoryville, passed away peacefully at Allied Hospice Center surrounded by family on December 22, 2024.
Marty was born on February 18, 1956 in Scranton. Formerly of Dalton, he graduated from Our Lady of Peace in 1970. He later graduated from Lackawanna Trail High School in 1974.
Marty was in the tire sales business for over 45 years. He was one of the founding members of the Lackawanna Trail Youth Basketball League and the Endless Mountain Travel League.
He was an all-star basketball player in highschool. He was an avid sports fan of Syracuse basketball and the Philadelphia Phillies. One of his favorite hobbies was golfing at Stone Hedge Golf Course with his best friends. He had a great love for music, especially The Allman Brothers Band.
Marty was personable and humorous. A friendly person who enjoyed talking to everyone he came across. He loved his wife, Elena, of 46 years dearly. He loved his children and granddaughter and spent time with them any chance he got. He had a positive energy and was someone who you could always share a laugh with.
He is survived by his wife, Elena, sons Shane of New York City, Ryan of Archbald, Martin (Taryn) and granddaughter Mae of Dalton, daughters Kate of Factoryville, and Kelly (Rob) of Clarks Summit, brother Pat (Corrine) of Scott Township, his dog Lucille, and a multitude of nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Ingeborg, and his siblings: Knut, Jim, Jan, Frank and Peter.
Friends may call from 12 to 2 pm on Saturday, December 28th, in the Anthony P. Litwin Jr Funeral Homes, Inc. 33 Reynolds St. Factoryville. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Allied Services Scranton Hospice Center or St Joseph’s Center Foundation of Scranton, PA.
