Mary Louise Cole, 57, of Factoryville, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, July 13, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.Born on June 18, 1968, in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late James and Elizabeth (Pankratz) Stone. On March 9, 1991, she married the love of her life, Tracy A. Cole, with whom she shared a devoted partnership.
Mary was a 1986 graduate of Lackawanna Trail Jr./Sr. High School and earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Misericordia University in 1990. For 32 years, she served as a compassionate and dedicated registered nurse at Dr. Penetar’s office, where she was deeply respected by patients and colleagues alike.
Mary cherished spending time outdoors — especially kayaking at Lakeside, walking with her beloved dachshunds, and playing pickleball. Above all, she found the greatest joy in being a devoted mother to her three sons — Mathew and Timothy of South Abington Township, and Ben, at home — whose academic and personal achievements brought her immense pride.
She is also surrounded by her loving siblings: sisters Kathy Valvano of Lake Winola, Sharon Stone of Factoryville, and Kimberly Cottel of Clarks Summit; and brothers Ron and John Stone of Factoryville, Donald Stone of Lake Winola, and Kenny Stone of Tunkhannock.
Friends may call on Friday, July 18 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Anthony P. Litwin Jr. Funeral Homes, Inc., 33 Reynolds Street, Factoryville. A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, July 19 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Abingtons Church, 207 Seminary Road, N Abington Township.
Mary will be remembered for her kind heart, her commitment to caregiving, her strong Catholic faith, her love for her family, and the quiet strength with which she lived her life.
