Paul “Jim” James McAndrew Jr., 68, of Erie, passed away Tuesday,
   
   February 16, 2016 at the Independence Court in Erie, PA. He was born a son
   
   of the late Paul James McAndrew and Ingeborg P. Weier McAndrew, on
   
   September 29, 1947, in Frankfurt, Germany.
  
   Prior to retirement, he worked as the Law Firm Administrator for
   
   Quinn Law Firm. After retirement he worked as a substitute teacher for the
   
   Erie School District as a hobby.
   
   Paul was preceded in death by three brothers, Knut P., Frank H.
   
   and Peter J. McAndrew.
   
   Survivors include his two sons, Christopher of Franklin, PA and
   
   Timothy of Austin, TX; a former wife, Pamela Turner of Erie; a sister, Jan
   
   Henry, Oakland Park, Fla.; two brothers; Marty and wife, Elena; and
   
   Patrick, Factoryville, PA; a half-sister, Karen Knecht, Philadelphia;
   
   numerous nieces and nephews.
   
   As a young teenager in Dalton, Paul enjoyed playing sports like
   
   baseball, basketball, and also served as a caddy at Scranton Country Club.
   
   He held the school track record for several years and was a District 12
   
   champion in the half mile. He moved to Erie in 1968 to attend Mercyhurst
   
   College for accounting. Paul was very active at Mercyhurst serving as a
   
   Residence Assistant and becoming the first male Student Council President
   
   in the history of the college. After graduating college in 1972, he took a
   
   position at the Quinn Law Firm where he served for 23 years. He was also an
   
   avid reader, political sagas were his favorite, and loved listening to
   
   oldies music. He was a member of Lakeview Country Club in North East, PA
   
   for many years where he enjoyed playing golf and socializing. His
   
   dedication to being a father was his driving force behind everything he did
   
   in life. His compassion and support for his children built what he leaves
   
   behind in death.
  
   A blessing service will be held Saturday at 10:30am from the Anthony P.
   
   Litwin, Jr. Funeral Homes Inc. 33 Reynolds St. Factoryville with Father
   
   Thomas Petro of the Our Lady of the Abingtons Church officiating. Friends
   
   may call from 9am until 10:30am at the funeral home. Interment to follow
   
   at the Cathedral Cemetery.
   
   In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude
