Peggy L Leonhart

Peggy Lee Leonhart, 65, of Lake Winola passed away at home on Oct. 1, 2022.  She was born in Mehoopany on June 3, 1957 and was the daughter of Ronald and Betty Arnold Vangasbeck.  She was married to Robert R. Leonhart and was a graduate of Tunkhannock High School.
Peggy was employed at Misericordia University in the archives of the campus library for many years. She graduated from Misericordia in 2015 with a bachelors degree in Psychology. She was a member of the Lake Winola United Methodist Church.

Peggy was a devoted mother, wife, and friend. She loved spending time at Lake Winola whether in the lake kayaking and swimming, or on the shore with friends. She frequently volunteered with the Lake Winola park and trail project. She was known for her kindness and compassion for everyone she met.

She is preceded in death by her father, and a brother Larry Vangasbeck.

In addition to her husband and mother she is survived by daughters Wendy Ann Leonhart of York and Amanda Elizabeth Leonhart of Silver Spring Maryland, a sister Beth Vangasbeck of Ithaca NY, and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held Sunday Oct. 9th at 6pm at Lake Winola United Methodist Church 326 Maple Dr, Dalton, PA with Pastor Robin Fillmore officiating.  A visitation will be held at the church from 5pm until the time of the service.  For online condolences or directions visit www.aplitwinfuneralhomes.com
