Rachel K. Schiavone-Rood

Rachel K. Schiavone-Rood passed away on Jan. 13, 2025, at the Scranton Health Care Center.  Rachel was the daughter of the late Marjorie and Maurice Kenyon of Nicholson, Pa.

Rachel was a long-time resident of Nicholson Pa, and was the former owner along with her husband Leonard Schiavone of Irene Sportswear.

Rachel is survived by a son David and wife Susie of New Mexico, son in law Richard Huffsmith of Tunkhannock, daughter Lenora Beichler and husband Al of Dalton, stepdaughter Gwen Erwood and husband Jim of California, and several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Rachel was preceded by her husband’s Leonard Schiavone, and Donald Rood, daughters Johanna Schiavone and Lisa Huffsmith, sister Maureen Zukowski, and two brothers Robert Kenyon and Richard Kenyon.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the entire staff at the Pines Senior Living in Clarks Summit as well as the Scranton Health Care Center and the Hospice of the Sacred Heart for their Kindness and compassion shown to Rachel during her time spent with them.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
