Richard J. Melia

Richard J. Melia, 66, of Nicholson went to be with the Lord Sunday Dec. 12, 2021, at Geisinger C.M.C, Scranton. Born in Scranton on July 8, 1955, son of the late James Vincent Melia and Loretta McCormick. His wife is the former Julie Smith.

Rich put his heart and soul into all his endeavors, which included owning several Restaurants and during the Christmas season he loved to sell Christmas trees and make beautiful wreaths. Rich was a devout Catholic who put God first in his life.

Preceded in death by his brother Thomas McCormick and twin brother Gerald who died Dec. 5, 2021. Rich also had a father figure type bond with Nichole, Michael Thomas and Donny Beagle who he loved as his own.

Survived by his brothers Frank, Phil, both of Nicholson, brother Dennis of Scranton. Two sisters Janet McNally of Taylor and Barbara Menichello of Binghamton, NY.
