Robert Roy Leonhart

Robert Roy Leonhart “Bob,” 73, of Lake Winola passed away at Allied Services Hospice Center on September 24, 2026 after being cared for at home by daughters, sister, and family including cousin Jim Rodney. He was born in Mehoopany on March 22, 1953 and was the son of William and Ann (Davitt) Leonhart. He was married to Peggy (Vangasbeck) Leonhart and was a graduate of Tunkhannock High School.

Bob was a cherished father, husband, brother, and friend. He loved spending time in nature whether fishing, hunting, or golfing. He was known for his humor and quick wit. He was a life long sports fan and could be found cheering on his favorite team the New York Football Giants.

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Peggy, and brother Michael Leonhart.

He was a loving father and is survived by daughters Wendy Ann Leonhart and husband Zachary Hayden of York and Amanda Elizabeth Leonhart of Silver Spring Maryland, a sister Ellen Earl and husband Barton of Ocala Florida, a brother William Leonhart and wife Pablita of Clarks Summit, many nieces and nephews, and little dog Lulu.

A memorial service will be held Saturday Oct. 3rd at 11 am at Lake Winola United Methodist Church with Pastor Sarah Church officiating. A visitation will be held at the church from 10 am until the time of the service.
