Robert “Bob” Calvin Statnick, age 97, of Centermoreland, passed away on March 7 at Highland Manor in Exeter.
Robert was born in Centermoreland on July 4, 1928, and was the son of the late Joseph and Dorothy (Wildrick) Statnick. He was united in marriage to the former Bethel Montross on September 21, 1956.
Robert was a Union Electrician with IBEW Local and proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.
A lifelong member of Northmoreland Baptist Church, Robert was actively involved in the construction of the church’s current building. He had a deep passion for aviation and enjoyed building model aircraft, attending airshows, and taking flying lessons. He also loved the outdoors, particularly hunting. Robert was well known in the community for his lawnmower collection and repair work.
In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his brother, Joseph Statnick, and his daughter, Sharon Geritz.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Bethel Statnick; his daughter, Donna Shaffer and husband John of Tunkhannock; his son, Robert Alan Statnick of Centermoreland; his sister, Betty Ann Howell of Centermoreland; his grandchildren, Anwyn Statnick (David), Kristina Shaffer (David), Amy Shaffer (Jason), Jessica Fetzko (David), and Jake Shaffer (Mikaela); and his great-grandchildren, Aiden, Ollie Mae, and Jade Dunn, Roselie, Elaina, and June Shaffer.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 16, at 2:00 p.m. at the Harding-Litwin Funeral Home, 123 W. Tioga Street, Tunkhannock, Pennsylvania. Military honors will be at 1:45 p.m. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service. Interment will follow at Perrins Marsh Cemetery in Centermoreland.
