Ruth E. Sorber, 96, of Dalton, died Thursday February 9, 2023 at home after a long illness. Her husband Marshall W. Sorber died in 2007, they were married for 55 years.
She was born in Arcade, NY on August 26, 1926; the daughter of the late Clarence and Frances Sampson Stone. Ruth was a housewife, mother, LPN, and she taught English in Johnson City, NY. She attended Redeemer Baptist Church, Fleetville.
Ruth had faith in her Lord Jesus Christ and the Lord sustained her throughout her life. The Lord credited Ruth’s faith as righteousness and, at her death, Ruth’s hope in the Lord was fulfilled.
The family would like to thank the staff at Traditional Home Health Care especially Samantha, Amy and Karen.
Preceded in death besides her husband Marshall, by their daughter Marshella Carico.
Survived by her daughter Rachel Hofferbert (Chuck) of Arlington, WA and two sons, Tim Sorber (Esther) of Dalton and Gary Sorber of Boca Raton, FL. Seven grandchildren Jack and Julie Carico Joshua and Jeremy Sorber and Amy, Steve and John Hofferbert. Many great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service will be Sunday at 3pm at Anthony P. Litwin Jr. Funeral Homes, Inc. 33 Reynolds St. Factoryville with Pastor Ben Rust presiding. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2-3pm. Interment at Sorber Cemetery, Shickshinny.
