Sharon K. DeWilde, 82, of Clarks Summit, died on Saturday July 1, 2023 at Allied Terrace, Scranton. Born in Forty-Fort on May 14, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Gordon and Edith Tourjee Browning.

Sharon graduated from Lackawanna Trail High School. In her younger years she was a hat model in New York City. She later worked with her husband Fred at their family business, Pinebrook Ironworks. She continued her career as a floral designer/manager for Poppies at the Globe Store, and Boscov’s.

Sharon’s greatest love was for her family. She treasured having parties and barbecues, always surrounding herself with loved ones. She cherished her time with her husband Fred, spending their time listening to music, swimming, walking and watching tennis and golf together. As the consummate hostess, Sharon greeted any guest with the most warm and beautiful smile and all were welcomed in her home.

She is preceded in death by her sister Nancy Cresswell and her brother Gordon Van Browning.

Surviving are her children: Gretchen Stephenson and her husband Rob; Frederick DeWilde III; Elizabeth Engh and her husband Darin; Erika Christian and her husband Drew; grandchildren; Alex Doherty and husband Mike; Grace Engh; Nathan Engh and wife Lauren; Zach Engh; Cole Christian; and Liam Christian; great grandchildren Mille and Etta Doherty; James Engh; brother Charles Browning; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call on Thursday July 6, 2023 at Anthony P. Litwin Jr. Funeral Homes, Inc. 33 Reynolds St., Factoryville from noon until 2pm followed by a Remembrance Ceremony and Interment held at Hickory Grove Cemetery, Waverly. All are welcome to come.
