Yvonne L. Cooper, 82, formerly of Mehoopany passed away in Melbourne, Florida on Aug. 23, 2024.  She was born in Sayre, Pennsylvania on Nov. 7, 1941, and was the daughter of the late Ernest and Dorothy Mae Patton Presher. She was a 1959 graduate of Elkland High School then earned her bachelor’s degree in physical education from Lock Haven University.

After graduation, Yvonne married Harry Cooper who passed away in 2002.  They traveled throughout Europe while Harry served in the US Air Force.   At the completion of his service, they made their home in Mehoopany to raise their four children.  Yvonne was a devoted mother and worked at the Tunkhannock McDonald’s for 10 years.

In 2014, Yvonne relocated to Melbourne, Florida to enjoy warmer weather.

She was a Penn State fan and enjoyed Daffodil Days, the Red Hat Society, traveling and loved group games and activities at Buena Vida Estates in Melbourne. Yvonne was a woman of strong Christian faith and shared that through playing the piano for others.   Those who knew Yvonne considered her a truly generous, thoughtful and giving person.

She is survived by her brother Ernest Presher of Richmond, KY and her four children; Jane and David Lunger of Erie, PA., Mary and John Lynch of Orlando, Fl., Jim Cooper and Cindy Campbell-Taylor of St. Augustine, FL., Tom and Mindy Cooper of West Plains MO., five grandchildren; Madylin, Joseph and wife Tiffani, Gannon, and Holt and two great grandchildren Harmony and Jaxon.

Funeral services will be held on Sat. Aug. 31 st at 10:30am at the Harding-Litwin Funeral Home 123 W. Tioga St. Tunkhannock.  A viewing will be held from 9:30am until the time of the service.  Interment will follow at a private family ceremony at Vaughn Cemetery, Mehoopany.  For online condolences or directions visit www.aplitwinfuneralhomes.com .  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Transue Community Bible Church or a faith-based organization of your choice.
