Zora Rose Velicky, 91, of Cochranville, PA and formerly of Factoryville, PA. Zora died peacefully at home with her daughter, surrounded by her family in the morning of January 12, 2024.
Zora was born to George and Catherine Kayen Benec on July 22, 1932 in Luzerne and was sister to Marion and Kathryn. Zora was preceded in death by her loving husband, Rodolf William Velicky (Bill). At the time of Bill’s death in 2017, they were married for 63 years.
Surviving are her children, William Velicky, Janet Velicky Brown, Michaelann Velicky, and David Velicky. She leaves behind four grandchildren, Hannah LeVasseur, Connor Brown, Mary Brown, and Hunter Velicky.
Zora raised her family in the town of Montville, N.J. Bill and Zora retired and spent nearly 30 years in Factoryville. Devoted to participating in the life of her community throughout her life, Zora served her parish, Our Lady of the Abingtons, in countless ways. She was a quilter and her many beautiful quilts still warm the homes of her family.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 12:00 pm on January 18, 2024 at Our Lady of the Abingtons Church 700 W Main St, Dalton with Rev. Arbogaste Satoun. Friends may call on January 18th from 9:30 to 11:30 at Anthony P. Litwin Jr. Funeral Homes, Inc. 33 Reynolds St. Factoryville. Interment at Evergreen-Woodlawn Cemetery, Factoryville, PA.
